The rainstorm in New York forced the Mets to postpone Sunday afternoon’s game against the Giants.
The teams will play a single-admission doubleheader on Monday starting at 4:10 p.m. Johan Santana was scheduled to start by Monday’s series finale, but now has been pushed back to Tuesday to keep the rotation in order.
Instead, Miguel Batista will start the opener against Giants ace Tim Lincecum and Dillon Gee will go against Madison Bumgarner in the nightcap.
The Mets and Giants have split the first two games of the series.
Sunday’s rain also forced the Yankees and Red Sox to postpone their game, with no makeup date immediately announced.
