Doctors found “an abnormal and unusual spot” on Gary Carter’s right temple, ordered a biopsy on the former Mets catcher on Friday and are awaiting the results.

Carter has been battling brain cancer since May and has been undergoing chemotherapy.

The Hall of Famer had several spots removed in various places, according to his daughter, Kimmy Bloemers, writing on a family website.

Bloemers also wrote that Carter’s white blood count had improved, so he was able to begin his second round of chemotherapy that had been delayed.
