As the Mets fill out their coaching staff and front office, a familiar face will be returning to Queens.
Dave Jauss is coming back to the Mets as their bench coach for manager Luis Rojas, a source confirmed Sunday.
The 63-year-old Jauss will replace Hensley Meulens, who was not brought back after the season. Meulens had been brought on to be Carlos Beltran’s bench coach before Beltran was let go following news of the Astros’ cheating scandal.
Jauss served as the Mets’ bench coach with manager Jerry Manuel in 2010 and was part of player development the following season before going to the Pirates in 2012.
