The Mets continued their search for a hitting coach Tuesday, interviewing Don Long in Orlando.
Long was the hitting coach in Pittsburgh the past three seasons, where he worked with Jason Bay — who struggled mightily in his first year at Citi Field.
Long has also worked in the Phillies’ and Angels’ systems.
Andy Van Slyke was the first person to interview for Howard Johnson’s old job when he met with team officials Monday.
