Noah Syndergaard acknowledged what has become obvious — his future with the Mets is uncertain.
After the Mets’ 4-0 win over the Padres on Thursday, the right-hander, who has a strong social media game, tweeted: “Here come the trade talks.” It included a GIF from “Solo: A Star Wars Story” of Lando Calrissian telling Han Solo, “You might want to buckle up baby.”
The Post’s Joel Sherman reported Thursday that the Mets’ baseball operations department is trying to convince Fred and Jeff Wilpon to accept dealing the 26-year-old Syndergaard if any potential trade reaches a level perceived acceptable.
The enigmatic Syndergaard, who has had stretches of brilliance and inconsistency throughout his Mets career, is 44-27 with a 3.21 ERA during his five-years with the team. This season he is 7-5 with a 4.33 ERA.
