METS: Hefner had his best outing of the season on Thursday against the Dodgers at Citi Field. He allowed just one earned run on three hits, walked three and struck out four in seven innings, but came away with a no-decision in a 3-2 loss. He is 1-1 with a 2.21 ERA in four appearances (three starts) against the Marlins.
MARLINS: Slowey lost his last start, 4-3, to the Cubs on Thursday. He gave up three earned runs on five hits in six innings, walked none and struck out six. His only start against the Mets came on June 25, 2010, while with the Twins. He gave up five earned runs on six hits in six innings and took a 5-2 loss.
