In his first full professional season, Mets catching prospect Kevin Parada is turning heads and being rewarded for his production.
The 22-year-old Parada, the No. 5 prospect in the system and ranked 94th overall in baseball according to MLB Pipeline, was promoted Tuesday from High-A Brooklyn to Double-A Binghamton.
The No. 11 overall pick in 2022 out of Georgia Tech was hitting .265 with 11 home runs, 42 RBIs and a .768 OPS in 87 games for the Cyclones this season.

Buck Showalter still hadn’t named a starter for Wednesday’s series finale, with Kodai Senga pushed back to pitch Friday against the Mariners to be afforded two extra days of rest.
He said it “potentially” could be Denyi Reyes called up from Triple-A Syracuse or someone out of the bullpen, depending on Tuesday’s usage.
Showalter floated that the Mets also could use slumping veteran Carlos Carrasco — who was placed on waivers Tuesday, The Post’s Joel Sherman reported — on three days’ rest after he lasted only 1 ²/₃ innings in his previous start.
Carrasco remains on the Mets’ roster if he’s not claimed by another team.
DJ Stewart’s home run Monday night was his sixth in his last 12 games, as the former first-round pick of the Orioles continues to thrive with regular playing time.
“DJ has worked hard on his trade. He likes bluntness when you say this is what you need to work on or you might be missing and he’s gotten after it,” said Showalter, who managed Stewart briefly in Baltimore in 2018. “I’m proud of him.”
