Jose Reyes is out of the New York Mets’ lineup and the team is waiting for test results on his injured hamstring.

The star shortstop left Saturday’s game against the Yankees after two innings with tightness in his left hamstring. He went for an MRI on Sunday morning before arriving at Citi Field.

With the Mets trying to avoid a Subway Series sweep, Ruben Tejada was set to start at shortstop. Center fielder Angel Pagan replaced Reyes in the leadoff spot.

Reyes, who has a history of leg injuries, was elected by fans to start at shortstop for the National League in the All-Star game July 12.

In other news, the Mets optioned outfielder Fernando Martinez to Triple-A Buffalo and activated utility man Willie Harris from the bereavement list.
