PORT ST. LUCIE — Mets shortstop Jose Reyes will start the season on the disabled list and miss at least the first four games of the season.

Reyes, who missed three weeks of spring training recovering from a thyroid issue, will be put on the disabled list retroactive to March 26. He would be eligible to play game five, April 10 against the Nationals.
