Long Island native Frank Catalanotto will get a shot with the Mets this spring.

The team announced yesterday that it signed the 35-year-old utilityman to a minor-league contract and will invite him to spring training.

Catalanotto, who hails from Smithtown and attended C.W. Post, played 77 games last season for the Brewers and hit .278 with one homer and nine RBIs. The 13-year veteran, saw most of his action in right field last season, but also played some second base.
