The Mets have added another young pitcher, agreeing to a one-year contract with right-hander Clint Everts.

The 25-year-old right-hander, the fifth overall pick in the 2002 amateur draft, was a combined 8-1 with six saves and a 1.65 ERA last season at Triple-A Syracuse, Double-A Harrisburg and Single-A Potomac, all Washington Nationals farm teams. He is 32-39 with a 3.98 ERA in 76 minor league starts and 115 relief appearances,

Everts would get the $400,000 minimum in the majors under Friday’s agreement and $75,000 in the minors.

The Mets also finalized the minor league deal it agreed to last week with right-hander Elmer Dessens. If added to the 40-man roster, he would receive $700,000 in the majors and $90,000 in the minors.

Dessens, who turns 39 next month, had no record and a 3.31 ERA in 28 appearances for the Mets last season.
