According to colleague Joel Sherman, the Mets are going to go after starter Derek Lowe (Dodgers) and closer Brian Fuentes (Rockies) when free agency starts. Lowe would be a solid addition to the top end of their rotation, while Fuentes (pictured) would be a cheaper answer than the Angels’ Frankie Rodriguez when it comes to solving the Mets’ bullpen woes.
