According to the Detroit Free Press, the Mets and Tigers were in serious discussions this week that ultimately fell apart on a trade that would have sent reliever Brian Stokes to Detroit for infielder-outfielder Ryan Rayburn. The deal reportedly came undone when the Mets decided Stokes was going to make their roster.
