PHILADELPHIA — A Mets catcher has been placed on the injured list, and it’s not the one who has eight working fingers.

Francisco Alvarez’s remarkable comeback from a UCL sprain in his right thumb and a broken left pinkie continues, but his backup has changed. Luis Torrens was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right forearm contusion, retroactive to Sept. 7.

Hayden Senger was recalled from Triple-A to take his place on the roster ahead of Monday’s series opener at Citizens Bank Park.

Torrens, whose throwing arm is his greatest strength, had been hit in the arm a few days ago and was not available in Sunday’s loss in Cincinnati.
