The Mets have added a former first-round draft pick to their organizational infield depth.

Christian Arroyo, who spent last season at Triple-A with the Phillies, was signed to a minor league contract by the Mets on Monday, according to an industry source.

The deal includes an invitation to major league spring training.

Arroyo, 30, was selected in the first round (25th overall) by the Giants in the 2013 draft.

He last played in the major leagues with the Red Sox in 2023, appearing in 66 games.

A right-handed bat, Arroyo is viewed as corner infield insurance for the Mets. But Arroyo also has experience playing the middle infield.
