Lastings Milledge is expected to be promoted today and return to the Mets for the first time in three months.

Milledge, who had three at-bats with the Mets in April before being demoted, has been playing minor-league

rehab games, coming back from a sprained ligament in his right foot. The 22-yearold outfielder could become

the everyday left fielder for now, with Moises Alou, Endy Chavez and Carlos Gomez all on the disabled list.

In 19 minor-league games this season, which range from low A-ball to Triple-A, Milledge hit .342 with four homers, 13 RBIs and six steals in 73 at-bats.

“Ralph Kiner Night” is Saturday night at Shea Stadium, with a pregame ceremony starting at 7. Those who

will be there for the celebration include Tom Seaver, Yogi Berra, Bob Feller, Keith Hernandez and Jerry

Koosman. Kiner, a guest analyst for SNY, has been broadcasting for 46 years. “As long as I’m able to be around baseball, I’m going to hope to stay around baseball because it’s a great game,” he said yesterday on a conference call. Kiner said he would like to do more work for SNY but the travel makes it tricky. Saturday’s game likely will not begin until approximately 7:35. The ceremony will be televised on CW11.

Coming into tonight, the Mets’ bullpen is on a fantastic streak. The relievers haven’t allowed an earned run in 19 straight innings, a span of four-plus games, and have given up a mere eight hits.
