Former Mets GM Omar Minaya has been offered a front-office job by the Diamondbacks, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Minaya would be special assistant to GM Kevin Towers.
“Omar and I talked about bringing him on board when he’s ready, but I didn’t receive any inclination through our conversation that he is ready to go back to work yet. Maybe in the spring was my sense,” Towers told MLB.com in a text message.
Minaya was let go Oct. 4 after the Mets’ fourth straight season without making the playoffs. He has two years remaining on his contract with the team.
