Major League baseball has announced plans to make a miniseries about the life of legendary Yankees slugger Babe Ruth — aka “The Sultan of Swat,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Babe (top row, left) has been portrayed before, both in the movies and on TV, by (clockwise from top right) William Bendix (“The Babe Ruth Story,” 1948), John Goodman (“The Babe,” 1992) and Stephen Lang (NBC’s “Babe Ruth,” 1991). Allen Coulter (“The Sopranos”) will direct and write several episodes.

The project doesn’t yet have a home.
