Day 3 of the MLB Winter Meetings is underway in Nashville, Tennessee with plenty of free agency and trade rumors.

Day 2 brought a flurry of Shohei Ohtani rumors with him having visits with the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Yankees acquired outfielder Alex Verdugo from the Red Sox and have also expressed interest in pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Reds agree to deal with Jeimer Candelario

In looking to improve upon their strong lineup, the Reds are bringing in free agent infielder Jeimer Candelario, MLB.com and The Athletic reported.

Candelario spent last season with the Nationals and Cubs, getting traded to Chicago at the deadline in August.

He totaled 22 homers and 70 RBIs, which both ranked as career bests.

For his career, Candelario has a .739 OPS.

He's spent time at both first and third base in the big leagues.

Diamondbacks add lefty Eduardo Rodriguez

Juan Soto wasn't the only one on the move on Wednesday night.

Eduardo Rodriguez agreed to a four-year, $80 million deal with the Diamondbacks that can reach a fifth year and $100 if he pitches 150 innings in 2027, per The Post's Joel Sherman.

Rodriguez, who spent the last two years with the Tigers, was a pitcher the Mets had interest in, especially if they are not able to add Japanese superstar Yoshinobu Yamamoto, according to The Post's Jon Heyman.

The 30-year-old opted out of the final three years of his deal after going 13-9 with a 3.30 ERA with 143 strikeouts over 152 2/3 innings in 2023.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Yankees promised “big changes.” Juan Soto certainly fits the bill.

One of MLB’s worst offenses in 2023 is adding one of the game’s best hitters, with the Yankees on Wednesday finalizing a deal to land Soto from the Padres in a blockbuster move at the winter meetings, The Post’s Joel Sherman reported.

Along with the superstar slugger, the Yankees will receive outfielder Trent Grisham.

The trade brings a much-needed splash for the Yankees, who are coming off a season that GM Brian Cashman labeled a “disaster” and led to Hal Steinbrenner pledging changes.

Angels staying active in pitching market

The Angels are trying to bolster their pitching staff this offseason as it waits on Shohei Ohtani's ultimate decision.

The team was interested in Blue Jays starter Alek Manoah, but Toronto was not interested in moving on from any of its starting pitchers, per The Athletic.

Manoah, an All-Star in 2022, struggled in 2023 with a 5.87 ERA in 19 starts and was sent to the minors over the summer in an effort to get him back on track.

The Angels, however, have also targeted All-Star hurlers in the Guardians' Shane Bieber, Corbin Burnes of the Brewers and the Rays' Tyler Glasnow, per the report.

Angels agree to deal with Adam Cimber

Right-handed reliever Adam Cimber agreed to a one-year deal worth $1.65 million, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported.

Cimber struggled mightily in 2023, seeing his ERA balloon to 7.40 in 22 appearances with the Blue Jays.

But, the submariner proved to be a reliable arm in 2022 when he led the majors with 77 appearances while holding a 2.80 ERA.

For his career, the 33-year-old right-hander has a 3.49 ERA with 225 strikeouts in 299 1/3 innings.

Where White Sox stand with their big stars

The White Sox, one of the teams expected to sell off some of their best assets, but have yet to trade two of their bigger stars, Dylan Cease and Luis Robert.

According to The Post's Jon Heyman, the White Sox are "likely" waiting to see where coveted Japanese free agent pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto signs before making a move.

Heyman reports that while rival executives believe the White Sox are "pulling back" Cease, there is a still a "good chance" that the right-hander gets traded this winter.

As for Robert, the star outfielder, The Post's MLB insider reports that Chicago does not intend to deal him at this time.

The slugger, coming off his first All-Star appearance is signed through 2027.

Angels sign ex-Yankee Willie Calhoun

The Angels announced they signed former Yankees outfielder Willie Calhoun to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.

The 29-year-old slashed .239/.309/.403 with five homers and 16 RBIs in 149 plate appearances for the Yankees last season.

Yankees sign Dennis Santana to minor-league deal

The Yankees have struck a deal with right-hander Dennis Santana on a one-year, minor league contract, according to Jessica Kleinschmidt.

RHP Dennis Santana has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Yankees and gets an invite to spring training, I’m told. He’s expected to compete for a spot in the Yankees bullpen.

Santana, 27, made nine appearances for the Mets last season, giving up seven earned runs in 10 ⅔ innings.

He previously pitched for the Dodgers and Rangers.

Eduardo Rodriguez close to making free agency decision

Left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez has narrowed his options down to two teams and is expected to pick his new home by Thursday, The Post's Jon Heyman reports.

Free agent LHP Eduardo Rodriguez, who met with clubs at the Winter Meetings, is down to two teams and is expected to have a decision by tomorrow.

Yankees hit hard in MLB Rule 5 Draft with three pitchers taken

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Yankees’ non-roster pitching depth took a hit in Wednesday’s Rule 5 draft.

A trio of right-handers that the Yankees left unprotected were scooped up by other teams during the major league portion of the Rule 5 draft, including the top two selections on a day when 10 players were taken overall.

Yankees-Padres Juan Soto trade could be done 'fairly soon'

It appears the Yankees and Padres are nearing the finish line on a Juan Soto trade, according to The Post's Jon Heyman.

Only medicals and minor details to go on Juan Soto trade talks with the Padres and Yankees. The principles are telling folks they expect the deal done fairly soon. Once done, NYY will also get Trent Grisham in deal to back up their revamped starting OF of Soto, Judge and Verdugo.

Trent Grisham to be packaged with Juan Soto in potential trade?

The Post's Joel Sherman is reporting that outfielder Trent Grisham could potentially be coming to the Bronx if the Juan Soto trade materializes.

If the Soto deal goes through with the Yankees, the expectation is they also would receive Trent Grisham, with plans to use as 4th OF/late-game defense in CF.

Grisham had 13 homers, 50 RBI's and a .198 batting average in 153 games with the Padres last season.

This would give the Yankees outfield depth and defensive support.
