After coming up big over and over again for the Mets during the final weeks of the regular season, Daniel Murphy hasn’t missed a beat during the first couple weeks of play in the Arizona Fall League. Murphy is hitting .412 (14-for-34) with a home run, nine RBI and 12 runs scored through nine games, and has racked up a gaudy 1.088 OPS.

He isn’t the only Met prospect having a good showing in the AFL. The much-maligned Jason Vargas, who was traded to the Mets along with Adam Bostick for hard-throwing relievers Henry Owens and Matt Lindstrom, hasn’t allowed a run in 7.2 innings over three appearances. Another pitcher, Tobi Stoner, has also pitched well; he’s gone 2-0 with a 1.17 ERA, having allowed one run in 7.2 innings pitched over four appearances.

Finally, Shawn Bowman is hitting .333 (11-for-33) with two home runs and seven RBI through eight games. He has also scored six runs and hit three doubles.
