The Yankees-Nationals game was delayed in the bottom of the seventh when Nationals right fielder Stone Garrett suffered a scary injury to his left leg when he hit the wall trying to make a leaping play on DJ LeMahieu’s leadoff homer.

Garrett, in obvious pain as he laid on the ground and was attended to by the medical staff, had an air cast put on his left leg before being removed on a cart.

Garrett was visibly upset as he left the field, crying and covering his face with a towel.

After the game, Garrett was in the clubhouse with his leg wrapped, per The Associated Press.

Martinez told reporters that the team was waiting on results from X-rays and that Garrett would soon go for an MRI, the Washington Post reported.
