PORT ST. LUCIE –- The Mets finally got some positive injury news this afternoon when a CT scan showed that backup infielder Ruben Gotay’s right ankle was just sprained – not fractured, as they first feared. The Mets said what team doctors initially thought was a fracture on early X-rays turned out to be an old injury. The CT scan will get another reading tomorrow from a doctor in New York just to be sure.

Gotay, who hurt his ankle on a ninth-inning slide Sunday in Vero Beach, is still expected to miss several days because of the sprain, though.
