Noah Syndergaard obviously has had plenty of time to watch the news and reflect while rehabbing from a partial tear of his right lat muscle.
The right-hander, who is nearing his return to the mound for the Mets, linked the recent influx of hurricanes in the U.S. to the country pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord – a decision the current presidential administration reportedly is reassessing.
“U.S. pulls out of Paris Climate Accord. Then hit by 4 Hurricanes in 6 weeks. Global Warming Karma? (thinking face) #imatexanrepublican #wakeup,” Syndergaard tweeted just before midnight Monday after the Mets fell to the Marlins 13-1 in Miami – a city hit hard by Hurricane Irma.
Syndergaard also didn’t miss a chance to poke fun at himself and the events leading up to injury. He refused to be checked out before pitching and hurting himself on May 1.
“…..and I know Karma #taketheMRI,” he wrote a minute later.
Next for Syndergaard is trying to re-take the mound.
