While the rain drops were falling at Citi Field, the Indians couldn’t find cover from Noah Syndergaard.

The Mets fireballer, likely killing time in the Citi Field clubhouse after having his night on the mound ended by an approximately two-hour rain delay, responded to a post from the Indians’ official Twitter account.

Cleveland’s social media team tweeted a video of the American flag at Citi Field blowing violently in the storm Thursday with a fake laptop flying across the sky. “Should have closed the press box window …,” they wrote along with the video. Syndergaard responded 40 minutes later at about 10:30 p.m. with the Mets holding a 2-0 lead, which they didn’t relinquish after the game was called in the eighth inning when the rains came again.

“Or fire the guy who lost his computer instead,” wrote the Mets righty, who threw six scoreless innings of two-hit ball while striking out five. “I suggest the social media guy.”

He tweeted again during a second rain delay that came with the Mets having runners on first and third with no outs in the eighth inning. Syndergaard was ready to call it a night.

“Figure (clapping emjoi) it (clapping emjoi) out (clapping emjoi) Game (clapping emjoi) is (clapping emjoi) OVER,” he wrote.

Syndergaard’s tweets were likely in response to a post from the Indians’ account prior to the game saying they understand their fan bases’ “frustration” after taking a series from the Yankees and then losing two games to a “fringe postseason team” in reference to the Mets. The Indians trail the Twins by 3 1/2 games.

After the Mets officially won, Syndergaard responded directly to the Indians’ pregame tweet.

“We got some FRINGE for you right here, we call it a SWEEP in NYC. #LFGM,”  he wrote.
