HOUSTON — The Mets provided some injury news on Saturday and it was not dreadful, horrible or discouraging: honest.

Noah Syndergaard threw one inning for the rookie-level Gulf Coast Mets. He allowed two hits, two unearned runs and struck out two. He threw 18 pitches, 13 strikes. And he was not rushed for an MRI, X-ray or any other exam afterward — which qualifies as not dreadful, horrible or discouraging.

“Went well, we’ll see how he feels tomorrow but next step would be to keep ramping him up and he’ll probably throw two innings next time out sometime mid-week,” assistant general manager John Ricco said.

Syndergaard, one of a host of injured Mets, went on the disabled list May 1 with a partial tear of his right lat muscle.
