Jesus Luzardo, a left-handed pitcher for the Oakland Athletics, was placed on the injured list with a broken throwing hand from playing video games, manager Bob Melvin said on Sunday.
A’s pitcher Jesus Luzardo fractured his finger while playing a video game. APMelvin said Luzardo sustained the injury by hitting his hand on a nearby table while playing the game. An X-ray showed a hairline fracture in his pinkie finger.
Luzardo has struggled this year, pitching to a 5.79 ERA in six starts, and now he will miss some time on the mound.
