Carlos Delgado is back in the lineup as the Mets try to extend their winning streak to three games behind Claudio Vargas tonight at home against the Dodgers. Delgado had been benched the past two games in what the Mets said was a chance for the struggling first baseman to “clear his head.” But with Moises Alou and Ryan Church still sidelined, Willie Randolph felt he needed some power –- however inconsistent –- in the middle of his order.
