The Mets will try to bounce back from Thursday’s 2-1, series-opening loss to the Padres tonight when stopper Johan Santana takes on fellow left-hander Randy Wolf here at Petco Park. Right fielder Ryan Church is being rested for the second time in three days. Willie Randolph didn’t offer much in the way of explanation, and Church declined to talk with reporters about it. It’s safe to say Church is still not quite right after suffering his second concussion this season late last month in Atlanta.

Randolph is also giving Carlos Delgado the night off at first base with the Mets facing a lefty in Wolf.
