The Padres seem to be making a strong push for Manny Machado.

San Diego general manager A.J. Preller flew to Miami to meet the 26-year-old free agent and his wife at some point in the past week, according to a report in the San Diego Union Tribune.

It’s the second time the Padres have met with Machado.

The other teams who have met with the infielder include the Phillies and White Sox. The Yankees also had a meeting with Machado but don’t appear to be making a big run at the free agent.

San Diego also had talks with Bryce Harper on Jan. 31 in Las Vegas.
