While enjoying their honeymoon in Rome, the Mets first baseman, 26, and his bride paid a visit to Vatican City, where they met Pope Francis himself.

Pete and Haley Alonso, who announced their engagement in December 2018, tied the knot earlier this month. Instagram“Is he a Mets fan??? Since tying the knot earlier this month, Alonso and Haley have been savoring every moment of their romantic honeymoon in Italy. Haley, who announced her engagement to Alonso in December 2018, has been keeping her Instagram followers up to date on the couple’s adventures, which included “champagne by a medieval [castle]” over the weekend and a wine tasting in Tuscany.
