That’s home run No. 54 for Pete Alonso.
After Jacob deGrom won his second straight NL Cy Young award on Wednesday, Alonso took to Twitter to congratulate his Mets teammate, and a Twitter troll came after the first baseman, who was crowned NL Rookie of the Year on Monday.
But the MLB rookie home-run record-holder was quick with a clapback.
“Lose weight fatass,“ the troll wrote.
Alonso then quipped, “How does it feel watching this ‘fat ass’ hit 53 hrs and 120 rbi from your couch?”
Quite a flex from the Mets rookie, who was listing his stats from his extraordinary first season in MLB to combat the troll’s attack on the Polar Bear’s physique.
