Earlier in the week, the White Sox agreed to a deal with free-agent outfielder Jon Jay, a friend of Machado’s. In December, Chicago also aquired Yonder Alonso, Machado’s brother-in-law. Machado, Jay and Alonso train together in Miami during the offseason.
