Lou Piniella appears to be giving the Mets a gift tonight with the lineup he’s sending out for the final game of this four-game series. The Cubs will not have Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano, Geovany Soto or Mark DeRosa in the lineup tonight for right-hander Rich Harden‘s start against Pedro Martinez.

Chicago’s Triple-A lineup is loaded with lefties, however, and Pedro has struggled with lefties in the past. It’s also understandable from Piniella’s perspective considering the Cubs have already locked up the NL Central.
