David Wright told reporters this afternoon that the Mets plan to hold a players-only meeting in the clubhouse at Yankee Stadium to clear the air after Billy Wagner’s postgame rant Thursday. Wagner (pictured) has already apologized to Carlos Delgado, one of the apparent targets of that rant for what Wagner considers a lack of accountability by some of his teammates. 6:25 P.M. UPDATE: It turns out that Willie Randolph and the coaching staff were also involved. The meeting lasted between 30-45 minutes, with Delgado and Wagner among the players speaking.
