DETROIT — Just before John Lackey was set to pitch to Jhonny Peralta in the bottom of the second inning of Tuesday’s ALCS Game 3 at Comerica Park, the stadium lights and the bulbs in the scoreboard in right-center field went out.
The power outage stemmed from a problem in local sub station and delayed the Red Sox-Tigers game for 17 minutes.
When action resumed the scoreboard on the outfield fence remained dark.
The delay didn’t bother Lackey, who retired the Tigers in order.
