Outside of the Double-A and Triple-A All-Star Games (which I’ll get into later on) here are the prospects who stood out yesterday for the Mets and Yankees. It’s a short list, with only two players on it – one from the Mets, the other from the Yankees.
Zachary Lutz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run (No. 3 this year) while raising his average to .343 for the Brooklyn Cyclones. Lutz missed all of last season after getting injured in his first game in Brooklyn after being draft last June. The other player is Yankees pitching prospect Jairo Heredia, who allowed two hits in six scoreless innings, striking out six and walking two. Heredia improved to 5-3 on the year for Low-A Charleston, and dropped his ERA to 2.66.
