The Dodgers have offered Manny Ramirez a one-year, $25 million deal, according to ESPN.com.
An earlier offer of two years for $45 million was not accepted by the star slugger. Dodgers GM Ned Colletti confirmed to ESPN.com that he met with Ramirez’s agent, Scott Boras, yesterday and presented the offer in person.
Boras and the Dodgers have haggled since November over Ramirez’s worth, but they have been hung up mostly by the four to six years Boras has been looking for. The $25 million offer would make Ramirez the second-highest paid player in baseball this year, behind only Alex Rodriguez.
