It has been six years since Brian Cashman steered his team to the World Series. Now that the Yankee GM’s club has made it back to the Fall Classic, Cashman knows this season could have the perfect ending.”Hopefully we can make the most of it and take it the whole way. But we’re real proud of obviously what we’ve accomplished so far and we’re close,” Cashman told The Post yesterday. “We’re close to really being able to close the circle and hopefully find a way to do so.”
To close the circle, of course, Cashman’s team will have to fend off the Phillies. “They’re the defending champs,” Cashman said. “To be the best, you have to beat the best, and they’re the best. We’re hoping to try to find a way to get ourselves fitted for our rings.”
