That Boston Red Sox rebuild sure went quick.

A winter after finishing last in the AL East at 71-91 and a day after reportedly agreeing to terms with free agent infielder Hanley Ramirez, the Red Sox have a massive deal in place with free agent Pablo Sandoval, according to CBS Sports.

Sandoval, 28, fresh off a World Series win with the San Francisco Giants, will garner a five-year deal at close to $100 million, according to the report.

There is some question about how all of the pieces will fit at Fenway Park. One possible solution: top prospect Xander Bogaerts remains at shortstop, Sandoval is installed at third base and Ramirez — whose defensive range has diminished — takes up residence in left field.
