Jerry Manuel said Tim Redding (pictured) or a Triple-A call up — most likely right-hander Nelson Figueroa — will start Monday’s series finale against the Diamondbacks.

It will be a one-off assignment no matter which pitcher gets the call. Manuel is only doing it because he didn’t want Johan Santana or Jonathon Niese to come back a day early after they started the two ends of Thursday’s doubleheader against Colorado.

Diamondbacks ace Dan Haren will be the opposing pitcher Monday.
