Seattle and Cincinnati have entered the trade market.
The Mariners acquired outfielder Jesse Winker and infielder Eugenio Suarez from the Reds in exchange for right-hander Justin Dunn, outfielder Jake Fraley, left-hander Brandon Williamson and a player to be named later or cash considerations, Seattle announced.
Winker, 28, had a career year in 2021. He was named an All-Star for the first time and slashed .305/.394/.556 with career-bests in home runs (28), RBI (71) and runs (77) in 110 games. Winker, a former first-round pick, missed time after suffering an intercostal strain in August. He tried to rush back from a rehab assignment only to reaggravate the injury during a Sept. 17 game, costing him the rest of the season.
Suarez, an All-Star in 2018, offers power, but his average has been on the decline the past two seasons. He slashed .198/.286/.428 with 31 home runs, 79 RBI and 71 runs in 2021.
Winker and Suarez had been teammates in Cincinnati since Winker made his MLB debut in 2017.

The 25-year-old Freeport native posted a 3.75 ERA and 1.311 WHIP with 49 strikeouts in 11 starts last season.
Despite appearing in just 19 big league games before last season, Fraley was expected to break out in 2021. It didn’t happen. The former second-round pick by the Rays slashed .210/.352/.369 in 265 plate appearances.
Williamson is ranked as the 83rd best prospect in Baseball America’s pre-2022 rankings. He will turn 24 next month.
