The Athletics have signed Chad Gaudin, according to a FoxSports.com report.

Gaudin was released by the Yankees on Thursday. The 27-year old righty was a part of the competition for the Yankees’ fifth-starters spot, but struggled this spring training before being let go.

Gaudin pitched for Oakland in 2006 and 2007 and is expected to start the season in the Athletics’ bullpen.
