The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Cardinals are no longer interested in signing Chien-Ming Wang.

This makes it further likely that Wang will sign with the Nationals. There were reports on Thursday that the former Yankees ace was on the verge of signing with Washington, but it is believed he will now sign somewhere sometime this week.

Wang would have competed for the fifth spot in the Cardinals rotation when he returned from an elbow injury in May.
