MLB.com is reporting that the Mets will make offers early this week to at least two of the following three pitchers — Oliver Perez, Derek Lowe and Randy Wolf. Lowe and Perez are considered the frontrunners to land in Queens, with Wolf being the fallback option. The Mets are still likely to sign just one of the three pitchers with Lowe being the Mets top target according to the report.

Lowe and Perez, both represented by agent Scott Boras, are more likely to sign now that Boras client Mark Teixeira has signed with the Yankees.
