Mets first baseman played five innings today in an extended spring game in Port St. Lucie, Fla., according to NJ.com.
It was Murphy’s first action since spraining his knee March 30 during spring training.
Rookie Ike Davis is the Mets first baseman, and the report says it is unknown if he will return to the Mets or Triple-A Buffalo when he is healthy enough to play.
