Pedro Martinez might have seen the writing on the wall when the Mets signed Tim Redding, because ESPN’s Spanish site is reporting this morning that he’s now in talks with the Marlins and could meet with them next week. Makes sense, considering Pedro lives part of the year in Miami and interest from the Mets appears to be dwindling. … JAN. 12 UPDATE: Two Miami-area newspapers are reporting that the Marlins aren’t interested in Martinez and that Pedro contacted the Marlins first. So that appears to be the end of that.
