MIAMI — Jose Reyes’ alleged bid to return for the final two or three games of the season is all but over when he decided not to test out his injured right hamstring tendon today in New York due to a family medical issue.

Manuel said Reyes might try to run Saturday but labeled the shortstop’s chances of playing again this season “very, very small.”

Carlos Delgado, meanwhile, has packed it in and ended his bid to play again this season by returning to his offseason home in Puerto Rico.
