Jose Reyes’ long-overdue surgery to remove scar tissue on his right hamstring tendon finally was performed yesterday in Dallas.

The Mets expect their All-Star shortstop to be fully recovered in time for spring training.

Reyes, who didn’t play after May 20, had the surgery by Dr. Daniel Cooper in consultation with the Mets’ team physicians. Cooper is the Cowboys team doctor specializes in hamstring tendon injuries in athletes.

The Mets said Reyes will start his rehab shortly and can resume baseball activities in early January.

Reyes recently suffered a partial tear of his right hamstring muscle, but he and the Mets have decided to let that injury heal by itself instead of through surgery.
