Through Monday 92 different players had stolen a base in the majors. None was named Jose Reyes, who over the past three seasons has 23 more steals than anybody else. The Mets arrived to their home opener a 2-3 team and one reason for the losing record is that Reyes has hardly looked the energetic catalyst he was for the first half of last season.
