The Yankees believe it will be nothing more than a routine surgery. Still, it’s Mariano Rivera having arthroscopic surgery on his right-shoulder Tuesday.
Rivera will have a calcification problem on top of the AC (acromioclavicular) joint corrected via the ‘scope. Dr. David Altchek will do the surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.
Rivera is expected to be ready for the beginning of spring training.
